planning applications are sent to a local authority
planning department they can be sent to other
departments for comments. In general, large scale
housing developments, residential development
of brown field sites, industrial developments
and developments that involve some form of nuisance
potential are passed to the environmental health
department for comment.
This
can be a lengthy process and can run into weeks
or months if a professional report is required.
Ensuring that all environmental health aspects
of an application have been considered before
the application has been submitted can speed up
this process significantly. This will also enable
any further reports that may be required to be
sourced and also submitted, for example noise
reports, preliminary contaminated land reports
etc.
